Do you aspire to a full Alimiyyah but are worried whether you are cut out for a six-year programme? Are you afraid of becoming a dropout, will get married and move away, or might not have the time or resources for the Alimiyyah?

Our vision for the Alimiyyah Programme at Hafs Institute is that it is designed for full-time professionals who have developed an enthusiasm for Arabic and Islamic scholastic tradition. It is also for university students who want to experience the inner workings of a full-time Alimiyyah programme in traditional seminaries. Although we acknowledge that full-time studies are irreplaceable, we believe our students who work full-time or are in university studies full time can be effective assets to our community and can have an equally positive impact.

Hafs Institute’s one-year Advanced Arabic Programme, which is the first of the six years of the Alimiyyah, is one of the best designed courses in the country, with invite-only summer excursions to Istanbul and other Muslim oriented tours for those students who are willing to enhance their Arabic. Students are empowered with a high level of Classical and Modern Standard Arabic, with an emphasis on spoken Arabic. Our Islamic Studies Programme across the next few years is a critical study of the Qur’an, Hadith, Muslim Theology, Islamic Law, Muslim Philosophy, and all ancillary subjects, connecting students to the Muslim tradition of all eras of Islamic scholarship. Our final year, the Dawrah Programme, boasts guests speakers like S. Abdullah ibn Yusuf al-Juday’ and Mohammed Akram Nadwi. Rather than being static or inflexible, we are agnostic and desegregated in our teaching approach, which allows us to move quickly to employ a variety of tools and touch upon topic areas in a dynamic fashion.

Our venue is located in Paddington, London, providing a warm, inviting, spacious, and vibrant space for students. Our classes run on-site on Saturdays between 10:00 - 18:30, delivered over 38 weeks consisting of three terms.

We pride ourselves with our diverse body of teachers who provide intellectual and spiritual enrichment, our dynamic and relevant curriculum and choice of subjects, and our levels of student progression and satisfaction. We have partnerships with our sister institutes across London, including Darul Iman and Ebrahim College, ensuring a well-resourced experienced for students.

We have limited a limited intake per annum and we prioritise those students whose profile aligns with our vision. We conduct open days and and accommodating to students who want to get an experience of study life at Hafs Institute.
